About Online Calculator Base
Online Calculator Base is an independent site that builds free, no-signup calculators for everyday money, health, and date questions. The goal is simple: give you the right number fast, then explain what it means so you can act on it with confidence.
What we make
We focus on the calculations people actually run into: a mortgage payment, the true cost of a car loan, BMI in US units, a savings goal timeline, a paycheck after taxes, or how many days sit between two dates. Each tool runs entirely in your browser. We do not store the numbers you type, and you never need an account to use anything on the site.
Alongside the calculators we publish short articles that tackle one specific question or misconception at a time, such as why your loan's APR differs from its interest rate, or why a lump sum today can beat a larger payout later.
How we build and check each calculator
Every calculator starts from a published formula or a widely accepted standard. BMI uses the standard weight-and-height ratio, loan tools use the standard amortization formula, and tax-related tools use the relevant brackets and rules for the year shown on the page. We state the formula on the page so you can see exactly how the result is produced.
Before a tool goes live we test it against worked examples and independent references to confirm the output matches. When rules change, for example tax brackets or contribution limits, we update the affected calculators and note the revision date on the page.
Editorial standards
Articles are written and edited by the Online Calculator Base team in plain English, with concrete numbers and real examples rather than vague advice. We aim to explain the reasoning behind a result, flag the common mistakes, and point you to the tool that does the math. We correct errors when readers spot them, and we revise older pieces when the underlying numbers move.
Not professional advice
Our tools and articles are for education and general guidance only. They are not financial, tax, legal, or medical advice, and they cannot account for your full personal situation. For decisions that matter, check the result against your own circumstances and, where appropriate, speak with a qualified professional.
